New Year approaching... at 300 kilometres an hour

Drinking vine, getting more and more relaxed, I am still thinking about supercars.

Mind you, this is a totally tounge-in-cheek moment.

Dreaming and thinking about drive ar, ar away. Sometimes I have the belie that motorways were designed to create ou dreams. It's the path you're taking that matters.

Not surprised drunk driving isn't allowed, 'cause I would do it right now. Just driving to infinity. Finishing jour journey in eternity. When drunk you would also believe you were driving an Aston or a Zonda.

But I do fear GOD, too. I try to keep a sober thought on things.

That is why I wish you a happy new year interuptedly right at this moment.

Cheers and prayers,
Gee Halen

Through the Alps and past the racetracks

I asked my Ford Escort the other night:

"You cool down here?"

"That's right. It's f----n cold down here."

"That's not what I meant."

"I know you didn't, but still..."

"Well, I'm sorry. We just don't have the money to keep you in a garage."

"And you could wash me and clean my interior more often."

"Right. I'm sorry."

"...and you could fix that dent on me..."

...

"You know, my previous owner kept me right. Had the heated garage, all the treatment, nice rides... but it was so predictable, so boring. All those walls all the time. I thought I gonna be insane... With you I had good and bad experiences, too, but I think that's just life... an I wanna live that life, you know..."

"Ummm... I dind't want to bring this up 'cause I didn't want to make you uncomfortable, but hell... Are you willing to ride with me all the way to England in srping? It's gonna be our 24 hours. It's gonna be our 1000 miles... What do you say?"

"...can I get some Gulf Oil treatment?"

"No, you are not a GT40.... how about some Martini Racing? You're an Escort, for heaven's sake."

"Right... You know what? Just cut to the chase and let's do it."

"Well, allright, some months ahead."

"Uh-uh. Through the Alps and past the Nurburgring and Spa-Francorchamps."

"Right. Through the Alps and past the racetracks. Sweet dreams."

"Yeah, sweet dreams... (it is cold down here...)"

Gran Turismo

I've been thinking of sports cars. What's the best sportscar you can get? A Ferrari, a Porsche, or something really over-the-top like a Veyron or a Zonda? These are not sportscar however.

What I'm thinking is that a REAL sportscar is anything you drive to fulfill some adrenaline rush.

Put it into first gear, kicking the clutch, pointing at the apex... all that stuff.

But you might still be thinking 'Well, I'm still gonna look stupid in my Punto.' Good point, but you still manage to go home in some sort of comfort. You just can't sit all day in a stripped out joint.

Hence the class 'Gran Turismo'. Straight from the French Riviera, enjoying sunshine, beautiful women, cocktails, you name it vombined with style, power and some magnetic vibe to a complete pattern o' life.

Gran Turismo is a class everyone tries to join. Because, frankly, it really isn't about the cars. It's about the capital letter life you want to live.

'Geez, I cannot afford a GT car, ever in my life' - Well, that's a complaint. some people just get luckier than others.

But who cares? You still have a route map, you still have that urge. All borders are now open in Europe. It's not a lifetime achievement to drive down to and along the coast.

Not cruising, not speeding... just driving.

To make you realize you still can get from A to B even if it is only about comforting your soul.

You too can make a 'great journey'.

Christmas in-car-nation

Hello all readers,

A new life's closing in. I've tried different formulas in this blog, I had short lived enthusiastic attempts to do it right, but still - every one of them were dead.

So for now on,I'm going to write here all the thoughts I am coming up with related to the car world. There may be big changes in the near future, so I will let you know about these.

Merry Christmas for all of you,
Gabor Vajda
